It all started in 2002 when Donna and Rob Mellison took an incredible trip to Italy, staying at a Villa and Winery in the heart of Tuscany called Livernano in Radda in Chianti. There they experienced 'Agriturismo' — a personal and intimate experience staying with the owner, meeting guests from around the world, sharing elegantly crafted Italian wines, and eating family-style with meals created by the Villa's Private Chef. That trip became the inspiration for Mellisoni Vineyards. Above all else, Mellisoni was created to make tastings and pairings more personal — from the high quality, small-batched collections of wine, to the intimate hosting and gorgeous Lake Chelan Waterside setting.

Embarkation
Welcome to Switzerland. You'll be greeted at Zurich Airport and transferred to Basel (Huningue), where you'll board your Emerald Star-Ship. Your friendly captain and crew will be waiting to greet you. Please book your flight to arrive into Zurich prior to 1:00 PM. This evening, join your fellow guests for a welcome dinner on board with your host Rob Mellison of Mellisoni Vineyards.
Breisach, Germany
Set high above the Rhine where the Black Forest joins Alsace, Breisach is a charming blend of German and French cultures. The Romanesque-Gothic St. Stephen's church is perched on a volcanic hill and visible from a great distance. Choose from a guided tour of Freiburg with local market tasting (including famous Black Forest ham), a guided e-bike tour through the Kaiserstuhl mountains, or an optional guided tour of Colmar with its fairy-tale half-timbered façades.
Strasbourg & Germersheim
Arrive in Strasbourg, shaped by both French and German influences, renowned for its fascinating history and beautiful architecture. Its World Heritage-listed Neustadt district showcases grand 19th-century boulevards, and the historic core centers around a magnificent cathedral. Explore the city on a guided walking tour with local Alsace tastings, or optionally visit the world-renowned Baden-Baden Spa. This evening, cruise to Germersheim for an exclusive private concert at the breathtaking Baroque Bruchsal Palace.
Mannheim, Germany
Mannheim is best known for its unique grid system and is often called the City of Squares. Its most famous landmark is the striking Baroque Mannheim Palace, one of the largest palaces in Europe. Travel to nearby Heidelberg — a charming UNESCO City of Literature that inspired Mark Twain and William Turner — for a guided tour of the Renaissance castle and its serene gardens. Active travelers can take the funicular to Mount Königstuhl and hike down through the forest to the castle.
Koblenz, Germany
Cruise through the World Heritage-listed Rhine Gorge, passing fairytale-like castles, steeply terraced vineyards, and the legendary Lorelei Rock — where a beautiful siren is said to have lured sailors to their death with her song. Once a Roman stronghold established around 8 BC, Koblenz is today a park- and flower-filled city. Join a guided walking tour passing the Church of Our Lady and the famous German Corner, where two of Europe's great rivers converge. Optionally, visit the medieval Cochem Castle in the Moselle Valley.
Cologne & Düsseldorf, Germany
Continue along the Rhine to Cologne, one of Germany's oldest cities, founded by the Romans in 50 AD. Look out for the twin spires of its Gothic cathedral — the Kölner Dom — a World Heritage Site. A guided tour explores the Old Town with its beautiful squares and historic monuments. Later, arrive in vibrant Düsseldorf, with its innovative architecture, high-end art scene, and passion for fashion. A walking tour reveals the historic Altstadt and modern cityscape. Optionally, discover Düsseldorf's legendary beer culture on a guided brewhouse tour.
Amsterdam, Netherlands
Beyond Amsterdam's storied canals, venture into the Dutch countryside where emerald-green pastures, mirror-like waterways, and centuries-old windmills paint an impossibly picturesque scene. Visit Alkmaar, famed for its historic cheese-making traditions and cobbled streets lined with gabled houses. Active travelers can embark on a guided e-bike tour through Waterland, passing quintessential Dutch villages and traditional windmills. Optionally, explore Amsterdam's hidden gems including the historic Jordaan area and a 17th-century house with a fully preserved Catholic church in its attic.
